The Edmond Historical Trust was founded to preserve the qualities relating to the history of the City of Edmond by preserving for public use, historic sites, buildings, and objects of local significance for the inspiration and benefit of the people of the City of Edmond. The Trust is to protect the City of Edmond and its inhabitants against the irreplaceable loss of cultural and historic values and to make necessary investigations and researches relating to particular sites, buildings, or objects to obtain true and accurate historical and archaeological facts and information concerning the same. The Trust also serves to protect, preserve, maintain, operate or manage any historic or archaeological building, site, object, or property used or acquired in connection therewith for public use. They also restore, reconstruct, rehabilitate, preserve, and maintain historic or prehistoric sites, building, objects, and properties of local historical or archaeological significance. As well as develop an educational program and service for the purpose of making available to the public facts and information pertaining to local historic and archaeological sites, building, and properties of local significance.
