The Citizen's Police Academy is a free 13 week series of classes that is designed to enhance relationships with community members by familiarizing academy participants with the Edmond Police Department, its policies, and practices.
The intent of the Citizen Police Academy is not to train citizens to
become police officers, but to show participants first hand the daily
responsibilities and expectations of the occupation of police officers

It is desired that upon completion of the Citizen's Police Academy, participants will have a clearer understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and community interaction expected from police officers and will share their knowledge with others in the community.
Requirements to Attend:
Minimum age of 18 years
No criminal record
Must be an Edmond resident or work in Edmond City limits
Candidates are encouraged to attend all classes
The Spring 2018 Citizens Police Academy will begin February 27th, 2018. Please see below for full schedule. The Spring 2018 class is no longer accepting applications. The next class will take place in the Fall. Please check back at a later date for additional details.
Location and Cost
There is no cost to participate. Classes are held on Tuesdays from 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm in the Public Safety Center located at 100 East First Street. One class will be held at the Edmond Police Department Firearms Range.
