The Coffee Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant, recognized in 2005, 2010, and 2015 as the Outstanding Large Plant from the Oklahoma Water Pollution Control Association. The plant is operated by a staff of seven water treatment professionals. Each staff member has earned licensing that meets or exceeds the requirements of the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ).
Discharges treated water (called effluent) into Coffee Creek
Has a total design capacity of 9 million gallons per day
Uses a continuous flow activated-type process that utilizes oxidation ditches and aeration tanks for secondary treatment
During 2015, ODEQ conducted four plant inspections. The plant continued its record of 100% compliance with all regulatory parameters for wastewater treatment.
The plant processed 2,599,700,000 gallons
Total operations and maintenance costs were $2,076,000
Total Biosolids Land Applied - 4,233,400 gallons equal to 562.5 dry tons
Permit for Operation
The plant is operated under an Oklahoma Pollution Discharge Elimination System (OPDES) permit, issued by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (ODEQ). The treatment facility began operating under a new OPDES permit on August 1, 2015. The new permit will be in effect for 5 years.
