  1. Amateur Radio Field Day-Emergency Demonstration

    June 23, 2018, 1:00 PM - June 24, 2018, 1:00 PM @ Edmond Fire Station and Training Center

Do you wonder about the radio used in 'A Quiet Place'? It's an Amateur Radio! The public is invited to attend our biggest annual event (Field Day) June 23-24 at the Edmond Fire Station and Training Center. Field Day is a 24-hour radio emergency response/contest and open to the public. We have radio stations communicating with others across North America using voice, data and morse code modes and also using free orbiting satellites! We will setup the largest event in Oklahoma! This is to provide anyone who is curious or interested with a live demonstration of radio communications and different uses of radio in this fun hobby. It’s also a lifesaving hobby that is used worldwide. Because of the science involved and applicability to hiking/camping scouting organizations offer a radio merit badge, so bring your scout! You do not need a license to get on the air at our event. We are not here to sell anything; we are simply here to provide demonstrations and answer questions!

  1. Upstage Theatre Presents Shrek the Musical

    June 21, 2018, 8:00 PM - June 23, 2018, 10:00 PM @ Mitch Park

"Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek...." And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand... and his name is Shrek. Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure. Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there's more to the story than meets the ears. RATED PG.
