Fire Department Requirements
We are not accepting applications for Firefighters at this time.
Minimum Requirements for Fire Fighters:
- You must be at least 18 years of age.
- You must be in good physical condition.
- You must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- You must have or be able to obtain a valid Oklahoma State Driver's License.
- You must have a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier.
- Within the first year of employment, you must be able to obtain National Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and maintain certification for the duration of employment with the City of Edmond.
Desired Qualifications (preferred but not required)
- IFSAC Firefighter 1 Certification
- Paramedic License
- Associate Degree in Fire Sciences
- National Registry as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
