Fire Prevention
The Fire Prevention Division is made up of five personnel and overseen by the Chief of Fire Prevention. Your Fire Department believes the best way to fight fires and injuries is to prevent them before they happen. This division of professionals teaches children, students and adults life skills with the following programs.

  • Investigation and cause determination of fires within Edmond city limits.
  • Fire and life safety education programs for children, adults, and senior adults.
  • Free smoke alarm program
  • Smoke alarms program for the hearing impaired.
  • Fire safety house
  • Risk Watch program in Edmond Public Schools
  • Children's Safety Challenge
  • Sparky the Fire Dog
  • Open burning permitting 
  • Professional public fireworks displays permitting
  • Business self inspection program
  • Citizens Fire Academy
  • Children's Safety Village
  • Fire & Life Safety Plan Reviews
  • Fire Knox Rapid Entry Program
  • Gate Annual Inspections
