Wild Fire Recovery
Edmond's Trees and Fire

There is no question that one major asset of the Edmond community is its trees. Not only do people plant them in their yards, but they build their homes around them. Some people even say that they chose to live in Edmond largely because of its beautiful urban forest.

In summer of 2011, extreme drought, heat and high winds contributed to an exceptional wild fire season. Unfortunately, large areas within Edmond city limits burned and one of the major losses incurred was trees.
