City Announces New Emergency Notification System

CodeRED will call to alert residents and businesses of emergency situations

Edmond's Emergency Management and Central Communications departments have implemented a new Emergency Notification System, CodeRED, that will call residents and businesses when crucial information needs to be dispersed throughout the Edmond community.

The CodeRED system allows Edmond residents and businesses to sign up via edmondok.com and enter contact phone numbers. In instances where there are weather emergencies, long-term power outages, missing children or adults or other critical situations the system will attempt the given telephone number up to three times and leave a message with the important information.

The system can deliver a recorded message to 60,000 residents and businesses in an hour and it can target specific geographic areas.

For more information or to sign up for CodeRED visit edmondok.com.
