Mass Collection of Storm Damaged Tree Limbs Underway
Contractor Now Making Initial City-Wide Collection
The contractor for the City of Edmond began the mass, city-wide collection of storm-damaged tree limbs this week. Based on the volume of tree debris and weather conditions, the initial collection is expected to be completed within three weeks. Following the initial collection, the contractor will provide a second and final pass throughout the city.
Residents have been advised to place their storm-damaged trees and broken limbs at their curb and to place them at a safe distance from mail boxes, gas and water meters. Limbs should not be wrapped in twine.
Residents do not need to call to be registered for the collection.
The contractor will collect the bulk of the tree limbs and large debris. The mechanical equipment may not pick up smaller debris and twigs but residents can dispose of these in the cart during their weekly collection.
The contract is for collection of storm-damaged tree debris only. Residents who need to dispose of fence panels, landscape materials and bags of trash can do so by placing them in the cart for weekly collection, taking them to the privately-owned transfer station or scheduling a bulk collection through Solid Waste Services.
