Emergency Management
Emergency Management is involved in many activities designed to promote and provide higher levels of public safety within our community. Extensive planning efforts are continually being extended to better prepare all City of Edmond resources and residents for dealing with the affects of disaster, whether man-made or natural. These efforts include:
- vulnerability assessments
- resource identification
- coordination and response plans
- additional activities involving multiple agencies and organizations
Primary Emergency Management activities also include a variety of public education opportunities. Our Emergency Management staff members are available to assist with virtually any aspect of emergency planning. This includes:
- severe weather surveys
- evacuation and relocation strategies
- personal planning/preparation
- site-specific multi-hazard assessments
Very simply, your Emergency Management department is dedicated to insuring coordination and appropriate resource allocation in the time of need. Whether involved in pre-emergency planning, training, or other educational opportunities, severe weather monitoring, or discussing personal protection and shelter issues, we are here to help.
