Community Emergency Response Team
When a disaster strikes, citizens often ask themselves "How can I help?" The Emergency Management Department has the answer. You can join our Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). You can be trained, equipped and organized to respond to disasters, natural or man-caused, in order to assist emergency personnel in the event of a disaster.
After several disasters in recent years, Americans - and especially Oklahomans - have said, "I want to do my part, but how?" Now we have a formal and nationally recognized program that will help answer that question - CERT.
You train in low threat security and access control, basic first aid and treatment management, light search and rescue, disaster preparations and recovery, damage assessment, and anti-terrorism.
