Fire Prevention
The Fire Prevention Division is overseen by Chief of Fire Prevention Tim Wheeler. The division has numerous responsibilities and education programs that they provide to and for the citizens of Edmond, some examples of those are found below:
- Investigation and cause determination of fires within Edmond city limits.
- Fire and life safety education programs for children, adults, and senior adults.
- Free Smoke alarm Program
- Smoke alarms for the hearing impaired.
- Fire safety house
- Risk Watch program in Edmond Public Schools
- Children's Safety Challenge
- Sparky (Feeding Sparky, the fire safety dog.)
- Permitting open burning
- Permitting of professional public fireworks displays
- Business self inspection program
- Future Citizens Fire Academy
- Future Children's Safety Village
