Open Burning & Permits
The City of Edmond allows open burning for the purpose of land clearance only. Only brush, tree limbs and shrubs are allowed to be burned. All trash burning is prohibited.
Open burning can only be achieved with an approved Burn Permit. This permit can be obtained at any fire station or the Fire Prevention Office. There is no charge for this permit, but certain regulations and guidelines for burning must be followed. These regulations and guidelines are outlined on the permit application and are discussed at the time application is made.
Burn permits are good for thirty (30) days. Permission must be granted on a daily basis in order to burn once a permit has been signed and approved. Permission to burn may be obtained by calling the Fire Prevention Office at (405) 216-7303 or (405) 216-7308 on weekdays and holidays.
