Holiday Collection Schedule

2008 Holiday Schedule for Residential Solid Waste Collection

Commercial and business container services are made up on the next couple of days following the actual holiday.

City of Edmond offices are closed on the following additional holidays, but Solid Waste Services will run on the normal collection schedule:

Holiday Help for Overflowing Carts!

Americans throw away 25 percent more trash in the five weeks between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. That’s an extra 25 million tons of garbage!

If you expect your cart to overflow with wrapping paper, boxes and holiday leftovers, Solid Waste Services has a solution. Residential customers can set out City-Coded Bags along with the weekly cart collection during the week following Christmas.

Here’s what you need to know:

Tree Cycling!

Christmas trees can be recycled again this year by dropping them off at either Hafer Park or Mitch Park throughout the month of January. Trees are chipped and free cedar mulch is available for residents to pick up at Mitch Park beginning February 15th.

Drop off locations will be:

  1. Hafer Park - the upper level parking lot adjacent to Bryant
  2. Mitch Park – in the north parking lot adjacent to Marilyn Williams Drive (east of the pavilion and playground.)

The trees will be chipped, so please remove all tree stands, nails and ornaments.

Commercial accounts, Christmas tree lots and other businesses will need to dispose of their trees by dropping them off at one of the two drop-off locations.

If You Can’t Drop Off The Tree:

Your tree may not necessarily be picked up on your normal trash collection day so it must be at the curb at 7 a.m. throughout the collection week.

If You Miss the Special Collection:
