City Coded Bags
When Do You Use City-Coded Bags
City-coded bags are available for purchase on those occasions when you have more trash than your collection cart will hold. When you purchase the city-coded bags, the price you pay, $1.50 each, includes not only the cost of the bags, but the collection and disposal of the contents.
The blue city-coded bags are 30 gallon size and are thicker and stronger than regular trash bags. The packages of ten 30-gallon bags can be purchased from local grocery, drug and home improvement stores.
If you find that you are using the city-coded bags frequently, you might consider requesting a second collection cart. An additional cart is $3.30 per month. The carts hold the equivalent of three or four city coded bags.
If you occasionally have an overflow that your trash carts will not hold you may place the excess in "city-coded-bags" that may be purchased at Edmond retail stores. By placing the "city-coded-bags" next to the trash cart on the assigned collection day the route operator will automatically notify the office and the "city-code-bags" shall be picked up before noon the next day.
