Water Treatment Plant
Edmond’s Treatment Plant is the most sophisticated in Oklahoma and incorporates a variety of technologically-advanced systems including:
- ozonation
- granular activate carbon filtration
- lime softening
The plant has a new state of the art monitoring and control system for the plant and wells that allows the operators to look at, and record, real time data for water quality and volume throughout the system – right from the control room at the plant.
Edmond’s facility, which treats water from Arcadia Lake, is designed to treat 12 million gallons per day (MGD). It is operated 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is staffed by a well-trained crew of operators and laboratory, maintenance and electronic technicians. Most of the Water Treatment Staff exceed the level of licensing required by the Department of Environmental Quality.
