The City of Edmond is primarily a service organization. Most of these
services are provided through city buildings and structures located
throughout Edmond. To keep these structures safe and in good condition,
the city has established a Facilities Maintenance group in the Public
Works Department. The Facilities Maintenance group is responsible for
the maintenance of more than 130 city-owned buildings, including
facilities for the following:
Animal Welfare Building
City Administration Building
City Hall / Courts
Downtown Community Center
Five Fire Stations
Planning and Public Works
This group handles daily maintenance, physical security, fire / life safety system maintenance, janitorial services, electrical systems, general maintenance, building automation systems, and tenant services for over 500,000 square feet of building space.
Facilities employees are the “behind the scenes” heroes who help make events successful by setting up for meetings and cleaning up after late-night and weekend events. Facilities staff also provides technical assistance during development of new buildings and manages numerous capital maintenance projects each year.
