The Margaret Annis Boys Centennial Arboretum is located at the south end of Bickham-Rudkin Park (Bickham-Rudkin also includes the dog park). The Urban Forestry Department will host a volunteer opportunity at the arboretum which will include spreading mulch around trees and along an unpaved path, and also pruning root sprouts at the base of some of the trees. Parking is available at the Whispering Heights Park playground, which is located on the eastern edge of Bickham-Rudkin off of Meadow Ln. Volunteers may also park at the north end of Bickham-Rudkin near the dog park and follow the trail south to the arboretum, but this is a bit of a trek. Volunteers should bring: work gloves, close-toed shoes, insect repellant, sunscreen, pruning shears or loppers (optional). Bottled water will be provided.
